You will receive a seed packet containing 1 gram, approximately 20,000 seeds, of Organic Sweet Annie (Artemisia annua). Also known as Sweet Wormwood or Annual Wormwood, this aromatic annual herb is a member of the Asteraceae family. Sweet Annie is renowned for its feathery, fern-like foliage and sweet fragrance, making it a popular choice for dried floral arrangements and wreaths. Native to Asia, Artemisia annua has been cultivated worldwide for its ornamental and traditional uses. The plant typically grows 3 to 6 feet tall and thrives in full sun with well-drained soil. It is drought-tolerant once established and can adapt to various soil types. To cultivate Sweet Annie, sow seeds indoors 5-6 weeks before the last frost date. Barely cover the seeds, as they require light for germination. Transplant seedlings outdoors after the danger of frost has passed, spacing them 12-18 inches apart. Alternatively, direct sowing outdoors after the last frost is also effective. Incorporating Sweet Annie into your garden not only adds visual interest with its delicate foliage but also provides a pleasant aroma. Its versatility makes it an excellent addition to herb gardens, borders, or as a backdrop in flower beds.
