Better Person is the stage name of Adam Byczkowski, a Polish singer-songwriter based in Berlin. His 2016 EP, It’s Only You, encapsulated the melancholic echoes of late-night revelry and solitary heartache on an empty dance floor. Since then, Byczkowski has embarked on a relentless tour, traversing Europe, North America, and Asia, with stints in Montreal, Los Angeles, and frequent returns to Berlin.

Amidst this whirlwind of cities, Byczkowski found inspiration for his highly anticipated debut album in a newfound love. This romance became the core of his creative journey. After a serendipitous encounter with MGMT’s Ben Goldwasser at a Berlin after-hours club, where shared influences sparked a deep connection, Byczkowski was introduced to the world of synth-driven pop.

A fortuitous increase to his overdraft limit (which would later lead to some unfortunate financial woes) allowed him to relocate to Los Angeles and collaborate with Goldwasser. With Goldwasser’s expertise in synth programming and knack for crafting pop anthems, the album captures the essence of Better Person’s introspective songwriting while expanding his artistic vision.

The result is a debut album that broadens Better Person’s inner universe, all while retaining the enigmatic charm that defines his sound.
