The Movement. Using one of Seiko’s s very well advertised and known “Hi-Beat” movement (28800 bph), resulting in silky smooth sweep, especially when you consider the watch is almost 30 years old. The movement has been regulated to an average of +8 seconds per day across three main positions.
Alpinist. The Alpinist series started in the 1960s with the release of the Seiko “Laurel” Alpinist. Originally designed to be used as an outdoor watch by Japanese skiing enthusiasts, it is perhaps more well known to modern collectors as the series that contains the SARB017. All Alpinists are built to be rugged and regularly worn.
The Bezel. Now a feature of all Alpinists, the rotating bezel can be used to find North if you can see the Sun.
Condition: In very good condition. Just serviced. No marks of any major significance other than on the caseback.
Scope: No box or papers.
