Love & Kisses: WWII Letters of George A. Campbell to his wife Bea

The publication of the letters in this book, titled Love & Kisses, provides a portrait of George A. Campbell, who fought in WWII. The letters portray how Campbell perceived and coped with the horros of war while all the time concernced about the well-being of his young family back home. Like many of his compatriots, Campbell seldom talked of his experiences in the war, even when prompted by others. While every soldier's situation and response is unique it is hoped that a look into Campbell's experiences will increase awareness of what society asks of its soldiers and as you read the names of relatives and community members on memorials in town squares, courthouses, etc., around the country you will be more mindful of their dedication and sacrifice.
