Draughtsman Shirt - Light Chambray Superfine Linen Broadcloth

MotivMFG's Spring/Summer 2026 collection is titled "A.C.G.T." — referencing the four bases that make up a strand of DNA: Adenine, Cytosine, Guanine, & Thymine. The very conceptual title ties into the scientific inspiration behind the collection, which combines a set of unique and highly-technical fabrics with Motiv's usual stellar tailoring and design. The garments are somehow both old-world and futuristic, with riffs on familiar silhouettes and contemporary updates to classic styles that seem like they would feel equally appropriate in the Atomic Era of the late 40s as well as the distant 2100s.

The Draughtsman Shirt is one of Motiv's outstanding shirt styles, inspired by vintage workshirts from the turn of the century. The collar is cut slightly elongated, with an elegant taper and a single chest pocket. The fit is relaxed, with plenty of space to allow the garment to drape, and a swooping curved hem that can also be worn tucked in.

This specialty fabric was developed in collaboration with the very best linen weavers in the Chinese city of Shenzen. It uses superfine linen yarns, woven into a lightweight chambray fabric drapes beautifully without sacrificing durability or comfort. Being 100% linen, it also breathes exceptionally well, and dries quickly, making for an idea hot weather textile.
