The Bell Sidetrack II MIPS Child Helmet is Bell's all-mountain trail helmet for young riders — built with more all-around coverage than a standard road helmet and a full set of features designed to keep the fit dialed through the chaos of a real ride. At 360 grams in the Youth size, it's light enough that kids forget they're wearing it, which is exactly the point.
MIPS Evolve is the protection system here. Rather than adding a separate floating liner, Bell integrates the MIPS slip plane directly into the retention system. This reduces rotational forces in angled impacts — the kind kids are more likely to take on a trail — while trimming weight and improving ventilation compared to earlier MIPS implementations. The result fits closer to the head without extra bulk.
The Ergo Fit dial at the rear adjusts with one hand and works in concert with the MIPS retention — fit and protection in a single system. No-Twist Tri-Glide fasteners keep the strap Y-junction flat against the cheek and prevent twisting. Sweat Guide padding at the brow wicks moisture away from the forehead and away from eyewear. A removable visor handles sun and trail debris. Three universal sizes cover toddler through youth (45–57cm), and four colorways — HiViz/Red, Light Blue/Pink, Matte Black, and White Star — give younger riders something to be excited about wearing.
